Personal Protection Outside The Home Course
This class is the NRA's "Personal Protection Outside the Home
(PPOTH)." PPOTH is the next progression in the NRA's pistol training. Basic Pistol and Personal Protection In The Home (PPITH), being the 1st two courses. This is the training that would have met the requirements for the proposed bill (Enhanced CPL) that the Michigan State Legislature passed the day of the Sandy Hook shooting in CT. A few days later Gov. Snyder vetoed the bill. At this time, this training is not required under Michigan law, nor does it specifically fill any training requirement. So this will be for your benefit, not for a legal requirement. Please let us know if you have any questions about this. PPOTH focuses on learning the skills necessary to defend yourself from an imminent life threatening encounter.** Some of the topics of discussion and practical application are: -SAFETY! First and always. -Avoiding confrontations outside the home. -Responding to an attack outside the home. -Controlling an encounter outside the home. -Aftermath of a defensive shooting, Emotional, and Legal. -Legal aspects of Concealed Carry and Self-Defense (Presented by an Attorney or Law Enforcement Officer). (Some aspects of the above topics will be a review from PPITH) -Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment. -Presenting the Pistol from Concealment. -Presentation, Position, and Movement. -Special Shooting Techniques |
