Range Safety Officer
This course teaches the basic duties a Range Safety Officer performs. It provides instruction to: the role of RSO's; range Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's); range safety briefings; range inspections and rules; emergency procedures; and how to clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions. The skills acquired in this course require regular practice which should initially take place under the supervision of a qualified individual - such as an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO).

Chief Range Safety Officer
This is an Instructor Level Class*. To develop NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to train and supervise NRA Range Safety Officers and to provide the essential information required to develop Range Standard Operating Procedures.
CRSO's must be a current RSO. RSO and CRSO training can be scheduled together.
*NOTE: ALL CRSO courses will include Basic Instructor Training (BIT) unless otherwise noted.

Current NRA RSO - 14 Hours (Includes BIT*)
All Others - 24 Hours (Includes BIT*)
Class Cost varies based on training needed. $250-$350

*ALL NRA Instructor Level Classes require completion of Basic Instructor Training (BIT).
NRA Guidelines allow waiver of BIT requirement if BIT has been completed within the previous 24 months. However, the Training Counselor/Chief RSO may require all Instructor Candidates and CRSO Candidates to complete BIT.
**PLEASE NOTE: Attending and paying for a Range Safety Officer (RSO) or Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) course DOES NOT guarantee that you will become a RSO or CRSO. You are paying for the OPPORTUNITY to become a RSO or CRSO. Your KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ATTITUDE will be evaluated, and upon successful completion of the course, you may be recommended to the NRA for Certification. Please ask us for details.
NRA Membership is NOT required to become a NRA RSO or CRSO. However, being an NRA member does expedite the process of becoming a RSO or CRSO, and offers a discount on Instructor Credentialing Fees.
