NRA Training Counselor, Certified Instructor, Chief Range Safety Officer, Pistol Coach & Pistol NCDS - Scott is certified by the National Rifle Association as a Training Counselor and as a Certified Instructor for: Refuse To Be A Victim®, Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, Metallic Cartridge Reloading, Shotgun Shell Reloading, and as an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer. Scott is also a NRA Pistol Coach (L3) and a member of the National Coach Development Staff (NCDS) to train NRA Pistol (L1) Coaches. He is also certified by the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation as an Action Shooting Sports Coach Trainer. He is a NRA Patron Life Member, Sponsor Member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Life Member of the Second Amendment Foundation, Life Member of the Citizens Committee for the Right To Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), member of St. Joe County Conservation and Sportsman Club, member of Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO), member Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Board Member of Manchester Sportsman Club, Life Member of the Huron Gun Collectors, and a Board Member of the Brooklyn Sportsman's Club.
Scott has been hunting and shooting for 40+ years, and has had his Michigan Concealed Pistol License since the “Shall Issue” law took effect in 2001. In 2014 Scott and Lisa began coaching the Pistol Prodigies Youth Pistol Team, Inc, a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit, that competes within the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP). Scott and Lisa are currently the State Advisors for the SASP in Michigan. Whenever possible, he likes spending time outdoors shooting or camping with Lisa, and traveling on their motorcycle or 5th wheel. Beside handguns, Scott enjoys shooting rifles, shotguns, and archery. Scott and Lisa formed Sidearm Defense Training, LLC to offer training to individuals that stresses SAFETY as one of the most important factors of firearm use.

NRA Certified Instructor, Range Safety Officer & Pistol Coach - Lisa is certified by the National Rifle Association as a Certified Instructor for: Refuse To Be A Victim®, Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, and as a Range Safety Officer and is also a NRA Pistol Coach. Lisa became an NRA Life Member before Scott did, and is currently a Patron Life Member. She is also certified by the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation as an Action Shooting Sports Coach Trainer. Lisa likes to prove that the ladies are as good (or better) on the range as the guys. She is also a Life Member of the Second Amendment Foundation, Life Member of the Citizens Committee for the Right To Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), Member of the Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners (MCRGO), member of Brooklyn Sportsman's Club, Member Manchester Sportsman Club, and Life Member of the Huron Gun Collectors. Working with her Pistol "kids" is something that she loves to do! Lisa and Scott are currently the State Advisors for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) in Michigan. Lisa has had her CPL for over 20 years, and loves to shoot clays, target shoot her various pistols & rifles, crossbow and her other archery equipment. One of the biggest reasons Lisa enjoys being an instructor is that she can help the ladies, and guys, who may be new to the shooting sports, to develop confidence in their ability and knowledge of firearms. Whenever she has time, you can find her camping, at the shooting range or out riding the motorcycle with Scott.
